The Covid-19 pandemic is currently spreading in Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi cities where, despite the rapid and globally praised work by the government to contain the spread, many people are testing positive for the disease and thousands more are living under a precautionary quarantine. Vietnam now needs to keep up the fight against Covid-19, but is suffering from a lack of full protective equipment, especially for doctors, nurses, and the medical staff on the front-line of this battle, who continue to place their valuable health and lives at risk.
To help quickly in this urgent situation, SEN Charity launched the Giving-a-Hand program in order to source and distribute protective and medical equipment to a number of social centers looking after old people and orphaned children, and to the front-line medical staff at hospitals.
The Giving-a-Hand program was rapidly launched in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh cities and involved the following actions:
1.Providing masks and sanitizing hand-gel to social protection centers.
2. Providing protective surgical masks, N95 masks, and protective clothing to medical staff at a key hospital involved in the testing and treatment of patients infected with the virus.
3. Providing diagnostic equipment to centers undertaking research into preventing the spread of Covid-19, who are also involved in treating and testing patients.
All materials donated by SEN Charity were generously funded from contributions by Staff, the Microtec, Onepay, TMS Companies and Sponsors in the spirit of continuing the fight against Covid-19 in Vietnam, and also with the wish that it will encourage others to help out similarly. SEN Charity will continue our mission to “Share, Encourage and Nurture”.
