At the end of each year, fulfilling a promise, SEN Charity joyfully prepares “Spring” filled with love and care, to share with individuals facing hardships as Tet approaches.
On January 3rd, we embarked on a journey to Ma Ro, a pristine land nestled within Bac Ai, Ninh Thuan, where SEN Charity just completed the renovation of a water well last Aug 2024. This well was built in 2017, has provided clean water to the local community for nearly 8 years. This ruggedly beautiful yet challenging region tests the resilience of both its flora and its people. The parched soil stands as a testament to the difficulties of life here, where winding, muddy trails become impassable during the rainy season, extending the arduous journey for those seeking a livelihood.
Life in Ma Ro is simple but marked by scarcity. Farming depends heavily on the rare and unpredictable rainfall, which is seldom enough to ease the hardship etched into sunburnt faces. Children grow up amid hills and streams, their eyes sparkling with dreams, but even reaching school is an uphill battle, with books and clothing remaining luxuries. As Tet draws near, the struggles of daily life become even more pronounced, with modest meals and humble thatched houses greeting the new year in quiet solitude.
The Tet gifts were gathered and distributed at the well, where the SEN Charity has supported the construction and drilling of a well to provide clean water for nearly 50 households in the village for the past 8 years (since 2017).
The elderly and children eagerly await the Tet gifts brought from Ho Chi Minh City.
The gifts were delivered and prepared to be given to 40 poor households, children, and elderly people in the village.
Driven by a desire to spread love and ensure no one is left behind this spring, SEN Charity recently organized a visit to Ma Ro, Phuoc Thanh Commune, Bac Ai Dist, Ninh Thuan province. We delivered 40 gift packages to households with young children and lonely elderly living in temporary shelters within the hamlet. Each Tet gift package, infused with care and compassion, included essential items such as mosquito nets, blankets, fish sauce, sticky rice, peanuts, sugar, cooking oil, snacks, milk, and lucky red envelopes to bring joy and fortune for the new year.
In remote areas like Ma Ro, where life feels isolated from the town, a Tet gift becomes a cherished treasure, carrying with it joy and hope. Though language barriers exist, many locals cannot communicate in Kinh language, every gift serves as a bridge of love and a symbol of warmth in these final days of the year. This is why both adults and children eagerly await, rising early in anticipation of receiving these humble yet heartfelt tokens that brighten the spring season.
Bring “Tet” home
Leaving Ma Rớ, SEN continued its journey to Ta Noi Primary School in Ma Noi Commune, Ninh Son District, Ninh Thuan Province. There, we donated an interactive screen to enhance the learning experience for students and provide access to technology that can improve education.
The representative of the SEN Charity presented an interactive screen to the school.
On behalf of the school’s 7 teachers and 99 students, the principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to the SEN Charity for their support of children in these mountainous areas. Though modest, these gifts brought timely encouragement, support, and relief to disadvantaged households in remote regions, easing their burdens as the Lunar New Year approached.
The residents of Ma Ro were deeply moved and overjoyed by SEN’s return, which rekindled their hope and faith in the kindness of humanity, reminding them that compassion exists everywhere. Ma Ro is not just a destination—it is a place that embodies authenticity and love. We hope every gift given will ignite a flame of warmth, spreading trust and care so that every spring is filled with happiness and abundance for all. Wishing families, children, and the elderly in Ma Noi a cozy and fulfilling Lunar New Year.
