Following the success of the first session, SEN Charity and Think Playground continued operating the second day on 20th Jul 2019 with the participation of 25 enthusiastic kids.
On this session, Think Playground’s representative and the kids got to know more about the situation of the underprivileged kids in Binh Minh Primary School. Binh Minh School is established in 2002 at Dong Anh District is a study place for the disabled kids such as: deaf children, intellectual disabled children, Down syndrome children, autism children, etc… At present, there are 103 students in this school. Almost all children have unfortunate backgrounds: they are disabled, fatherless, etc… There is a family who send two of their children to study at this school, as their family can only provide limited care since they have to survive on a low-income. Binh Minh School hoped to receive the help in building an indoor playground for their students, which not only makes the disabled kids feel happier but also improves their current condition.

Due to the special circumstances of the students here, it is necessary to find suitable toys for them. The children participating in the program have designed the drawings in accordance with the context of Binh Minh school. After that, they made their own models with recycled materials (covers of corrugated carton, plastic caps, bamboo sticks, clay, …) which collected from their home. From these materials, the children have improved, transformed into slide models, swings, and pipes, etc. In the process of assembly and finishing products, the children have promoted their team working skills, solidarity and creativity.

After finishing the second session, the children were excited to visit Binh Minh Primary School and help the disabled children turn their dream playground into reality.
