Handover ceremony of the drilled well No.22 – Ba Khe Primary & Secondary school, Lao Cai

On September 22, 2025, at Ba Khe Primary and Secondary School in Cat Thinh Commune, Lao Cai Province, a handover ceremony was held for a clean water well sponsored by the SEN Charity in collaboration with the BIDV Cash Center. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the school, students, and members of the SEN Charity and BIDV.

Cat Thinh Commune in Lao Cai Province is home to six ethnic groups, with ethnic minorities making up over 70% of the population, mainly residing in particularly disadvantaged highland villages in the area.

For years, the school has faced a major issue that severely affects the daily lives and well-being of its students: a shortage of clean water. Due to climate change and extreme weather conditions, the primary sources of water have included drilled wells, stream water, and rainwater collection during the rainy season. However, both the quantity and quality of water have been inadequate for the school’s daily needs.

In response to this situation, with support from the SEN Charity Fund and the BIDV Cash Center, a new drilled well was constructed and officially handed over to the school.

The clean water well at Ba Khe School, with a depth of 80 meters and a capacity of 20 cubic meters per day, ensures a safe, stable, and long-term water supply for nearly 650 students, teachers, and staff members—significantly improving the living conditions at the school.

During the ceremony, Mr. Trần Hữu Sơn – the school’s Vice Principal – expressed his deep gratitude to the sponsors and shared his hope that this spirit of compassion and mutual support would continue to spread to other disadvantaged areas across the country.

The ceremony ended in a warm and emotional atmosphere. The clean water well, the washing machines, and small but meaningful gifts are symbols of solidarity, proving that wherever there is a need, there is community support.
