Our renovation project for Chieng San Primary and Secondary schools commenced in May 2021, being officially completed and inaugurated in September 2021, but it was only in November that we had the opportunity to return to Son La province to see the progress due to the influence of the pandemic.
When we finally arrived and saw the new look of Chieng San elementary and secondary school, we were overwhelmed with joy in what had been achieved. The previous image of an old school suffering from a shortage of facilities, had completely transformed. Also transformed was the new level of happiness reflecting in the eyes of all the students and staffs with their spacious and clean new school, a place for everyone to nurture their own dreams for the future.
SEN arranged a visiting ceremony to present the children with small gifts, and our donors joined us in providing donations to the school in the form of new learning equipment including desks and chairs, a computer system, and screens. The school is now an ideal place for the local children to study, have fun and make friends together, and a place for the community to organize activities throughout the whole season regardless of the weather conditions.
We are very pleased to share the great success of this project, thanks to not only SEN and our sponsors, but also as a result of the complete support from the school board, local community, and commune authorities. We hope that through this project, more people will be able to join our efforts and help us conceive and deliver more educational development projects, contributing to the betterment of society and the country.
