Inauguration of bridge no. 5 – Kenh Ngan bridge and a gift of love in Dong Thap province

Visiting Dong Thap – the land of lotuses, warm-hearted people, and the peaceful rhythm of life in the Mekong Delta, always leaves a lasting impression through its compassion and spirit of solidarity. It is in this very place that another meaningful milestone was marked in the charitable journey of the SEN Charity.

After a thorough survey and assessment of the transportation conditions in My Thi A Hamlet, Thap Muoi Commune, Dong Thap Province, and with the approval of local authorities, SEN Charity proceeded with the construction of a bridge to meet the essential travel and living needs of the local community and to improve their quality of life.

The aging wooden bridge is in poor condition, endangering the lives of schoolchildren and nearby residents.

On July 5, 2025, the SEN Charity officially inaugurated Bridge No. 5 – Kenh Ngan Bridge in My Thi A Hamlet, Thap Muoi Commune, Dong Thap Province. The inauguration ceremony took place in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, with the attendance of the sponsors, local authorities, residents, and especially 36 students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The new bridge has brought a fresh, modern look to the once-quiet rural village.

As part of the ceremony, SEN Charity presented meaningful gifts to the 36 students. The joy in their eyes and the radiant smiles as they received the gifts brought a special emotional resonance to everyone present. These simple yet heartfelt moments deeply moved many, as the happiness of sharing touched all hearts.

The joy was not limited to the children. Local residents expressed profound gratitude and emotion at now being able to travel across a sturdy and well-constructed bridge. They clearly felt the positive impact the bridge would have on their daily lives and the socio-economic development of the area. Commuting has become more convenient and safer, especially for the students who can now reach their schools more easily, with significantly reduced travel time.

The local authorities also extended their heartfelt thanks to the SEN Charity and the generous sponsors – kind-hearted individuals who have joined hands to share love and support with communities still facing hardship.

Kenh Ngan Bridge not only connects the two sides of a river but also opens a door to new hope for the community. For SEN Charity, this represents a meaningful milestone in its journey of giving – a tireless effort to bring practical projects closer to those in need, creating lasting and far-reaching values.

Kenh Ngan Bridge project began construction in May 2025, with a total length of 21 meters, a width of 3.5 meters, and a designed load capacity of 2.5 tons.

As of July 5, 2025, the Kenh Ngan Bridge has been officially handed over to the local government and is now in operation.

SEN Charity extends its warmest wishes to the people of My Thi A Hamlet, Thap Muoi Commune. We hope that Kenh Ngan Bridge will not only serve as a means of transport but also become a bridge of compassion, ushering in a brighter new chapter for the lives of local residents.

We also wish the students good health, academic success, and the nurturing of big dreams. May their first steps across this bridge strengthen their resolve on the journey to school and to the future – where knowledge is the key to transforming lives.
