Ky Thi school site has 2 educational stages of Kindergarten and Primary School located more than 15 km from the commune center, the traffic conditions are tough. The unique route leading to the school passes through many steep passes, rugged gravel roads and deep muddy roads. There are currently 91 students in the school, 100% of whom are from the Mong ethnicity. Previously, due to the lack of strong facilities, the children had to study in makeshift classrooms. The school has just three classrooms, most of which are composed of corrugated iron, bamboo, and cork, all of which have deteriorated significantly over time.

With permission from local authorities and school administrators, the SEN Charity raised funds and built a new school for Ky Thi School to help teachers and students here have a better learning environment.
The process of building a new school
After over 7 months of construction, the Primary School and Kindergarten project in Ky Thi village, Yen Cuong commune, Bac Me, Ha Giang was officially inaugurated and put into operation. The school was built on a construction area of 290m2, including four elementary classes, a kindergarten class, an official residence, a kitchen, two male and female toilets and teaching equipment and a common playground. The total construction cost is 1 billion 650 million VND.

Cultural performance by school students
The completion of the project helps the school site to have better conditions to “teach well, study well”, students in remote areas have conditions to play, live and study. The interest and support of sponsors are the motivation and joy to encourage teachers and students to improve teaching and learning quality.
Also at the ceremony, the SEN Foundation gave each student a gift bag including school supplies, a backpack, a boot, and a school bag and gave the school essential items such as stainless steel cups, noodles, and convenience food,…

The love we give away is the only love we keep”.The new school site has lit up the hope of a good future for the children of ethnic minorities in the region, no longer worrying about heavy rainy days or cold winters, their learning process is now much more comfortable. Back in Hanoi when the street lights were on, we left with the image of H’Mong people who are hardworking, sincere, enthusiastic, hospitable, with warmly happy smiles and faith in a brighter day. Wish students to be obedient, study well, become helpful citizens in the country, and hope that the lives of the people here will be more prosperous and happy.
The great success of the project not only comes from the SEN Charity but also from the support of benefactors, the continuous favor from the school, local people and commune authorities. Through these projects, we expect that in the upcoming time, there will be more benefactors who can accompany us to build more educational development projects, contribute to the overall development of society and the country.
