Donating Medical Supplies and Food for HCMC’s sixth Covid-19 field hospital

SEN Charity received a letter from a Staff member who directly visited Field Hospital, and are pleased to share their thoughts:

“Right now, Saigon is here with the street is quite deserted, I don’t even know if I’m standing in the middle of the busy boulevards of ordinary days or am lost in a strange place. Saigon is familiar but strange.

On behalf SEN charity, we arrived at the field hospital on a beautiful sunny day (although the last night, it was heavily raining and making the roads to the hospital still wet).

The view around the large land 38.4 hectare with the building is a resettlement area in Thu Thiem new urban, Thu Duc city with more than 2,600 apartments set up as a field hospital that is treating about 4,000 Covid 19 patients.

Welcoming us is Dr. Phan Trung Hieu who is very uplifting and always busy to arrange for patients to have gifts and joys while being treated here. And we, the representatives of the SEN charity fund, have also brought very practical and urgent gifts in contributing and supporting the treatment of patients here.

When we visited the treatment area, we could feel all the hard work that the medical team and doctors fought day and night to bring back the health of the patients. The medical protective clothing, face shields and masks are inseparable from them, they look not so well in these but still smiling with us. We are SEN charity who can only bring a part of society with all respect and truly admiration for the actions and efforts of the medical team and doctors who are participating in the fight against the epidemic. They are truly brave people and heroes in this moment.

We supported to transport Covid-19 medicines, oxygen meters, foods, milks, fresh fruits and supplement vitamins for medical staffs and doctors. We also do not forget the gifts to each patient because currently, providing them with nutrients is necessary. Some people are hospitalized alone, others are hospitalized with the whole family. We only dared to look at them from afar, but we could still see through their sad looking eyes and worry about the consequences of the disease, worry about the family’s economy when they take treatment too long.

At these times, we just wish that the epidemic should stay away from this world, stop disturbing their life’s, let them be free and healthy. Medical team and doctors who are silently treating patient’s day and night to stay safe at home with their family cause of some of them still haven’t seen their wife’s, children’s, and parents for months.

After Giving gifts and sending the encouragements to medical team and doctors. We left the hospital with sad feeling and worries. We think about the medical team, doctors who have been away from their families for too long and work in the harshest environment, even their hair is too long but still has not been cut neatly.

About the patients there, how long will the treatment take for diseases? When will they be discharged from the hospital? What will their family be like if the whole family must be in the disease treatment? These thoughts have followed us until now, right now when I write down my mood lines, the images and eyes of medical teams, doctors, and patients seem to be right in front of my eyes.

If I had a wish right now, I only wish that the epidemic would disappear and disappear forever from this world to return us to the very normal days like the years before.”
