Renovate classrooms and give gift sets at Bu Ca Mau – Binh Phuoc

Bu Ca Mau school site is located in Phu Nghia commune, Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province.

Phu Nghia Commune was established in 2002, covering an area of 145.01 km², located in the transition zone between the highland mountains and the plains, occupying an extremely important position in terms of economy, politics and security. Binh Phuoc province in general and Phu Nghia commune, Bu Gia Map district in particular are located in the region with tropical and equatorial monsoon climate with two distinct seasons: rainy and dry seasons. The soil here is mainly fertile red basalt soil, which is adaptable to many crops, especially industrial crops such as rubber, coffee, cashew and pepper.

The majority of the people in the commune are S’tieng people, the life is difficult, the food is only enough to use for 6 to 8 months, the food is scarce, the family meals are very sketchy. Consequently, the rate of poor and drop-out pupils is still quite high.

Bu Ca Mau point is one of three school points in the commune’s primary school, which is no more than 3 km from the pupils’ residence. It is not well-equipped.

After the survey in November 2018, witnessing the difficulties of teachers and pupils, the SEN Charity – Ho Chi Minh City Branch decided to renovate the school and give gifts to pupils. On August 2, 2019, we started planning the project to complete it on the first day of the new school year.

The total cost of the project is 3,450 USD, which is 100% funded by SEN Charity.

On August 19, the first day of the new school year, we accepted the renovation work and gave gifts to pupils. Newly painted classrooms, with new boards, new toilets, new painted glazed windows and doors. In addition to 130 gift sets, each one included a pair of Biti’s shoes, 15 notebooks and 5 pens, which are essential items for a whole school year, we also gave sports equipment for children to train more physical activities: badminton, jump rope, shuttlecock …

Hope that all gifts have created motivations and joys for the children.
