The “Kenh Tong Lon” bridge is located in hamlet 7, Tan Binh Commune, Cai Lay Dist, Tien Giang Province, 100km from Ho Chi Minh City. The bridge crosses over the Tong Lon canal. It had been built by wood since 2002 to connect the Tan Binh commune (home to 1600 families) to Binh Phu commune (home to 90 families) which use this bridge daily to go to school, farm, the market and provincial highway.

After a survey and investigation, the SEN Charity decided to fund and build a new concrete bridge during May – June 2019 to welcome pupils back to school for the new school year 2019-2020. In addition, we also installed 2 lamp posts at the 2 ends of the bridge so that people can travel safely in the evening. People and especially students are very excited because from now on they will feel relieved, as they no longer have to worry about crossing the old bridge, especially when the weather is bad.
The grand total of bridge project is US $15,334. SEN has received a sponsorship from People’s Committee of Tan Binh Commune, VK Group and other personals with US $7,347 donation. The bridge was completed on the end of June after 2 months of work. The opening ceremony was held on July the 13rd 2019 as the local people and students joyfully looked on.
