Tet Bags for 100 poor households in Tra Leng – Quang Nam

As the New Year is coming, everyone is busy preparing to welcome the new season of time. In some places, however, there are still a lot of people who do not have enough money and necessities for their daily life, not to mention this special time. Understanding that, we decided to give a hand to those poor families in a part of Tra Leng Commune, Quang Nam.

Far away from Da Nang center about 175 km, Tra Leng is one of the poor communes of Nam Tra My mountain district. There are 04 hamlets with 520 households and 2600 people in Tra Leng commune, and most of them are M’nong ethnic.

Their daily life is self-sufficient and based on breeding, planting rice and cassava on the mountain field; major income comes from cinnamon and by casual labour. Their life is so simple and lower than standard that main infrastructure and facilities have not been developed, especially electricity and news media.

On Thursday, 09th Jan 2020, on behalf of SEN Fund, Da Nang team carried out Tet bag charity program in Tra Leng, Quang Nam.

Early in the morning, the whole team gathered and delivered big bags onto the truck, getting ready for a meaningful day. Only 175km away from Danang, but the curving mountain roads make the journey longer, we took more than 5 hours to arrive at the gathering point at the People’s Committee of Tra Leng Commune. Welcoming us were Mr. Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Commune and provincial officials; after short greetings, everyone quickly arranged wrapped packages neatly while the surrounding people were queuing.

With the enthusiasm and cooperation of the Representatives, the whole team began to give gift including food bags, blankets, and rice bag to 100 poor households here. Responding to us were grateful nods, thanks from local residents. Looking at the happy smiles of children and adults, we all felt very happy and hope that with these small gifts, they may get a warmer Tet with fullness.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Cuong also sent a deep sincere thanks to Boss, Sen fund and Microtec company for the good support, hoping that there will be many meaningful reliable programs for the people here, where there are blinking black eyes always sparkling clarity and innocence.

Goodbye to the commune, we came back with little joy and happiness and it was a really meaningful trip for all of us.
