Joining hands to help Long An Field Hospital No.21 fight COVID-19

Since the first new case of Covid-19 was recorded on May 27, all localities in Long An province have recorded more than 21,000 infections, making it one of the worst affected areas in the Mekong Delta region.

Long An province has therefore urgently established a series of field hospitals to meet the increasing needs of patients infected with COVID-19. The field hospitals have been successfully established despite the upmost urgency, but were initially lacking essential facilities, medical equipment, and supplies. SEN Charity understood the difficult situation at the field hospitals and decided to assist as part of their continued efforts with the mission of “Joining Hands to help HCMC Fight Against the Covid-19 Pandemic”. SEN Charity decided to aid directly to the field hospitals in the Mekong Delta province, where cases were increasing rapidly day by day, with resources buckling against the unprecedented historic pandemic.

SEN Charity provisioned 1,000 items of Medical Protective Clothing level 4 and 1,000 3M/N95 Face masks, as well as additional medical supplies, Medicine to treat Covid 19, and Vitamin C at a cost of VNĐ 317 million (US$13.690). The protective equipment and suppliers were handed over to field hospital No. 21 located at the Long An Pedagogical College, Tan An City, Long An Province where thousands of Covid-19 infection cases are being received and treated daily.

SEN Charity hopes to help join the hands or supporters and front-line staff to partly reduce the hardships of the medical team who are working hard in protecting the lives of thousands of patients being treated. We sincerely hope that our efforts will play a small part in helping our Long An and our country to overcome the pandemic soon.
