The Project Board ran into several transportation issues more than a month after working with local officials in Yen Cuong Commune, Bac Me District, and Ha Giang Province to clear a path for the delivery of supplies to the building site.
There is about 20 km of slick, hazardous, rugged, and steeply sloping dirt roads between the main school and the Ky Thi school, making travel very challenging. If it rains on a given day, the project board is required to wait three additional days before the truck can transport materials to the school. Because this is the ideal time to be in a safe condition so that the car may move. Unfortunately, it has been raining continuously and every other day for the previous month, making it nearly hard to guarantee this circumstance. As a result, the transit is frequently delayed and disrupted.
Especially, the more than 700 meters from the Ky Thi school’s access road has many underground water sources that cause weak ground and high settlement. Although the construction team reinforced 30m3 of the stone cavity on the road, it can only be maintained for about 2 days. After that, the truck continued to sink down into the mud.
The project board and local authorities made every effort despite several obstacles to transfer building supplies on time. More than 90% of the materials required for the building have already been obtained, allowing for the commencement of work on the project.
The foundation for the children of Ky Thi School’s dream school was dug and the first bricks were set on August 4 by the building company and the locals. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate so that the job can be finished on time.
This project is also a gift of the new school year that the SEN Charity Fund brings to teachers and students to welcome the school year 2022 – 2023. We hope that all students will not stop making efforts to study and rise to touch their dreams for the future.
