Autumn has officially arrived, marking the commencement of a new academic year. In this spirit, SEN Charity and our partners held the inauguration ceremony for School No. 18: Nam Luc 1 Primary and Kindergarten School on October 11, 2024, in Sin Ho District, Lai Chau Province.
The event was characterized by an atmosphere of joy and celebration, with attendance from representatives of SEN Charity and our partners, The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), local authorities, teachers, and 75 students from the school.
An aerial view of the newly completed school reveals its striking design, resembling four vibrant petals blooming amidst the mountains and forests of the Northwest. The shape symbolizes the values of knowledge, physical well-being, spirit, and ethics.
The school has been completed with an exceptionally clean and well-equipped environment, featuring three classrooms, one kitchen, two restrooms, and a multipurpose space, along with various educational equipment. It fully meets the teaching and learning needs of the teachers and students. The total project cost amounted to 1.32 billion VND.
The ceremony was attended by local authorities, SEN Charity & our partners, as well as the teachers.
At the ceremony, a representative of the local authorities expressed deep gratitude to SEN Charity for our efforts in planting the seeds of love and sharing goodness with the children of Nam Luc. They also praised the responsibility and dedication of the SEN team throughout the construction process, from laying the first bricks to the day the project was completed.
Representatives from all parties took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially inaugurate the school.
Here are some additional images from the ceremony:
The school was ready to welcome the guests and students attending the ceremony.
The children eagerly arrived at school early to attend the inauguration ceremony.
The children, dressed in Dao and H’mong ethnic costumes, performed lively and cheerful songs.
With bright, innocent eyes, they sincerely said to us: “I really like the new school,” “I love going to school,” “I’m so happy to have a new school.”,…
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Vietcombank generously gifted instant noodles, snacks, and other treats to the children who attended the event, adding an extra layer of joy to their special day.
The children expressed immense joy and excitement as they received brand-new backpacks—gifts from the architects who designed the school, in collaboration with SEN Charity.
The local authorities presented certificates of appreciation to the philanthropists.
The classrooms, decorated by the teachers, are now fully prepared and ready for use.
SEN Charity’s journey in Lai Chau has come to an end after three months of relentless effort, overcoming the challenges of continuous rain and storms over the past four months. This journey has been difficult, but also incredibly beautiful.
The joy and bright smiles of the children in Nam Luc Village are the greatest gift and motivation for SEN Charity and our partners on their mission to “Share love – Connect communities” a mission that has been at the heart of our work throughout.
Improving the educational infrastructure in a border province in the Northwest not only enhances the quality of the educational environment, in terms of knowledge, skills, and awareness, for the children, but also contributes to the sustainable development of the local ethnic minority communities. It progressively narrows the gap between urban and rural areas with each passing day.
