Health check and medicine for people in Phang So Lin and Lung Thang communes, Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province

On September 28th 2024, the SEN Charity, in collaboration with the Volunteer Doctors Association, successfully organized a humanitarian medical examination program, providing free medicine and gifts to the residents of Phăng Sô Lin and Lùng Thàng communes, Sìn Hồ district, Lai Châu province. This comprehensive medical examination program covered various specialties: General Internal Medicine, ENT, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, ECG, Ultrasound, Blood Tests, and X-rays.

The event was held at Nậm Lúc Primary and Kindergarten School, which was funded by the SEN Foundation and built in the summer of 2024. The school, like a bright flower on the hillside, warmly welcomed a large number of villagers to the community festival.

This program was organized at the Nam Luc 1 Primary School & Kindergarten that SEN Charity has just completed building.

To prepare for the program, the team of doctors and volunteers left Hanoi early in the morning and arrived safely after an 11-hour journey. They received enthusiastic support from local authorities, the commune police, Sìn Hồ district health center, and especially the teachers of Nậm Lúc Primary and Kindergarten School. The program ran continuously from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, achieving impressive numbers:

  • Total number of people receiving medical examinations: 1,084
  • Total number of medical visits across departments: 3,584 (the highest number of visits ever recorded in the Volunteer Doctors Association’s programs), including:
  • 202 Dentistry cases

The Volunteer Doctors Association also committed to accompanying and providing maximum support for these cases during their treatment in Hanoi.

On that same autumn morning, filled with the scent of milk flowers and ripe rice, not far from the medical examination site, children eagerly participated in the “Books for Children: ‘Turning a New Page – Entering Autumn'” program, sharing about reading culture and donating books to the school library. Additionally, the students were educated on health topics such as proper handwashing, tooth brushing, and basic first aid skills.

The sparkling eyes and radiant smiles of the villagers in each community that the SEN Foundation visits are priceless gifts for those who carry out the program. This is a testament to the mission of “Sharing Love – Connecting Communities” that we are building together.
