Paint a Classroom for Nakhai Primary School – Vientiane

The Nakhai Primary school is located in Nakhai Village, Thulakhom Dist, Vientiane Province, 60km from Vientiane Capital. There are two teachers who are responsible for 35 students from grade 1 to 4. The school was in the process of constructing a new building but it was not completed because of the lack of government support and private sponsor. The school also lacks study equipment, sport equipment and some students do not have uniform and shoes.

Nakhai Village is one of the villages in Thulakhom District with population of nearly 400. There is only one primary school in the village. After finishing primary school, students have to continue secondary school in another village.

Nakhai school requested for support to paint a new study room, provide study equipment, sport equipment and uniforms for students. They also have plans to move students from the old building to the new one in September 2019.

The school facilities include three classrooms, one teacher room, one restroom. The classrooms are made by wood, cement, and metal roofs. Small class size (24m2) and the furniture is made of wood, which is small and old. Currently, the school was being helped by a nurse in finding a private sponsor to fund the completion of the new building. So teachers request us painting the study room and they still move to the new building in this year.

Therefore, our team and the local people wanted to make their dream come true by painting the new study room. It was completed within a day with the Project Value of about 13 million LAK ($1,600).

We have finished the project at Nakhai School on 05th April 2019. After painting the school building, our team handed gifts to students and consign the charity fund to school with warm welcome of the teacher and students. On this occasion, the chief of village also came to join and acknowledge our work.

SEN Charity will stay in touch with the Nakhai School and plan to come back one day to see the activities and facilities of school again.
