Donate for Tan Lap Kindergarten and Primary School – Bac Kan

Tan Lap Kindergarten and Primary school stands side by side on the far-end of Tan Lap commune, which is also the most remote and difficult area of Cho Don district, Bac Kan province. With more than half the population belongs to Tay ethnic minority and the remaining belongs to Hmong, Nung and Kinh (0.74%), the commune’s economy depends largely on agriculture and forestry (wood planting & gathering). The prospects for services and manufacturing or other kinds of economy is low, therefore its per capital income remains lowest among the province.

The kindergarten has 5 classes with 109 children aged from 3 to 5, and the primary school has 8 classes with 140 pupils of grades from 1 to 5. As the local education budget is low, with local people still struggling to make ends meet, both schools’ infrastructures is outdated and downgraded, with insufficient teaching and learning equipment.

With a deep longing to encourage teachers and pupils of both school in the new school year, SEN charity group decided to grant them a gift package with value of 2.643USD, including:

  • 35 sets of Hoa Phat desk and chair for the primary school
  • 90m2 foam mats and 30 winter blankets for the kindergarten
  • Crayons and coloring books
  • Football balls and shuttlecocks for sport lessons and leisure time

Our trip to the two schools was a great success with so many smiles and memories. The not so big presents but carrying the huge caring and sharing from SEN group members hopefully will bring more motivation to the mountainous teachers and the little poor children.
