Dak Doat kindergarten, Dak Pék Commune, Dak Glei District, Kon Tum Province

School is a huge gateway that leads to the future, where children’s dreams may be nurtured. Before entering the broad world of life, children will learn how to treat others, have valuable learning experiences, and feel loved and protected under the cherished school’s roof. The school might be compared to a second large house, safeguarding the children during their wonderful academic years. A positive learning environment may do a lot for children’s awareness and development.

As a result, SEN Charity attempted to devise a plan for creating a dream school to fulfill children’s desires in this isolated location.

Let’s investigate what makes this school unique! Most remarkably, this school was mentioned on the web page:

ArchDaily is a website covering architectural news, projects, products, events, interviews and competitions, and opinion pieces, among others, catering to architects, designers and other interested parties. It is currently based in Santiago, with offices in Berlin, Shanghai, and Mexico City.

The school’s initial status

The school is located on Ho Chi Minh Road, National Highway 14. There are 1,686 households and 7,468 residents spread over 13 localities in the commune. This is the home of the De, Nung, Tay, and Kinh ethnic tribes and the De ethnic group makes up most of them.

School design

Owing to the land plot’s elongated and narrow shape, the master plan guarantees the tiny school’s functional integration. The playground has enough room for a variety of activities because the classroom block is positioned on one side of it. The main entry hall is formed by a set of curving staircases, which serve as a stage for “young audiences” to view performances. The playground is designed to be spacious and diverse in play areas for young children. Adjacent to the playground are vegetable gardens cultivated by teachers, serving as a place to teach children agricultural skills and provide fresh vegetables for their lunches.

By utilizing the sloping roof language, the design creates a familiar and indigenous image while adding a fresh and attractive focal point to attract children to the school. The school is built with the architect’s desire to awaken pride and the beauty of the architecture of the Central Highlands region of Vietnam in the minds of children who attend classes here on a daily basis.

The two-tiered design makes a play area that connects the classroom area, the fields behind it, and the football field in front while also giving kids somewhere to play in the shade.  Parents working in the fields can easily observe their children studying and playing. This is one of the features that makes a strong impression on this school; it is contemporary in design while retaining the cultural character of the area.

On the school’s inaugural day, there are many local people took time off work to attend and celebrate with all the teachers and children, local officials, SEN Charity, and accompanying sponsors.

This project has empowered and encouraged SEN charity to inspire and fulfill energy for more nonprofits supporting meditation to the community, especially bringing the “real dream” to children in isolated mountains.

Dak Doat Kindergarten, the children’s second home here, is now spacious and hygienic, providing numerous chances for them to play and learn. Happiness is when you see the smiles on the children’s faces when they get better day by day. Wishing them a great future and the opportunity to contribute to the country’s continued development.
