In September 2026, SEN Charity held inauguration and handover ceremonies for two drilled wells at Dao San High School and Muong So High School in Phong Tho District, Lai Chau Province. During the same trip, SEN also organized two training sessions on Survival Skills and First Aid for nearly 1,000 students from the two schools.
From Water Shortages to a Stable Water Supply for the Schools
Dao San High School and Muong So High School campus, which is part of Phong Tho High School, each currently serve nearly 700 students, around 60% of whom are boarding students. Before the new wells were built, the schools’ existing water supplies frequently fell short of the daily needs of both teachers and students.
During periods of water shortage, teachers and students had to rely on natural water sources near the schools for bathing and washing, or purchase water from nearby households using their own already limited personal funds.
The two well-water facilities were developed to provide the schools with a more stable and sustainable water supply. One of the wells was funded by Ms. Bui Thi Tuyet Hanh, Director of BIDV Cash Centre. Ms. Hanh and members of the Center also joined the trip to attend the inauguration and handover ceremony.
Both wells are now fully operational, providing an abundant water supply and meeting the daily needs of teachers and students. Speaking with us, a group of boys, still dressed in their school uniforms, smiled as they shared: “Since we got the new well, we no longer have to carry water back from the stream just to take a bath. We’re so happy!”
A Warm and Joyful Handover Ceremony
The inauguration and handover ceremonies at the two schools took place on the morning of Saturday, September 26, in a warm, friendly and joyful atmosphere. Seeing the new water supply in operation brought visible excitement and relief to both teachers and students.
On behalf of their schools, the two principals expressed their sincere appreciation to SEN Charity and the donors whose support made the projects possible, with special thanks to Ms. Bui Thi Tuyet Hanh and the members of BIDV Cash Centre.

More Than Clean Water: Skills That Can Help Save Lives
On the same day, SEN Charity Fund organized two Survival Skills and First Aid training sessions, attended by nearly 1,000 students & staffs from the two schools.
The program focused on practical and essential topics, including raising awareness of survival skills and the role of a first aider, responding to airway emergencies, basic bleeding control, and initial first aid for fractures and soft-tissue injuries.
The students participated enthusiastically, actively engaging in discussions and hands-on practice. Many showed particular interest in first aid after realizing that these skills could also relate to their future fields of study and career choices.

Practical Benefits with Lasting Impact
The two drilled wells and the skills training sessions shared the same goal: to improve daily living and learning conditions while enhancing safety for students in communities that continue to face significant challenges.
A stable water supply helps reduce the everyday difficulties students experience, while basic first aid knowledge can give them greater confidence and preparedness when responding to emergencies.

SEN Charity would like to express our sincere thanks to our donors and partner organizations, as well as the school management boards, teachers and students of both schools, for their cooperation and support in bringing these projects to successful completion.
We would especially like to express our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Bui Thi Tuyet Hanh, Director of BIDV Cash Centre, and the members of the Center for contributing both resources and their personal presence throughout this meaningful journey.
