Bringing clean water to the “Thirsty area” in Quang Binh

Quang Binh is the hallowed name of the land of talented people, which attracts and trains many of the country’s bright individuals. With narrow and steep terrain, hills and mountains account for 85% of the natural land in Quang Binh province, with the gray soil group covering the most ground in districts, towns, and cities. This soil is low in nutrients, readily eroded, and acidic. Drought and unpredictable, difficult-to-control floods have substantially influenced local people’s lives, particularly their access to safe, long-term, and reliable water supplies.

In May 2024, SEN Charity visited and surveyed the Thuan Hoa village, Lien Truong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province. The floating mound region is situated on the Gianh River, where the people’s drinking water is significantly polluted with alum. Despite passing through a basic rough sand filtering system, the output water remains murky and smelly.

The people here have been troubled and worried about clean water for daily life.

Following the “Spring water for all” campaign, which aimed to improve access to clean and stable water sources for people in remote and mountainous areas, SEN Charity installed 10 of 300ml water filter systems for 9 poor households in Thuan Hoa village and the Medical Center in Lien Truong Commune in July 2024, in collaboration with the partner Riverside Tower Commercial Center Company Limited (RTCC). On this occasion, SEN Charity and RTCC presented 40 gifts packages to 40 impoverished households in Lien Truong commune, Quang Binh province.

“Sharing love” gift packages

The residents of Lien Truong commune were overjoyed and expressed their sincere appreciation to SEN Charity and RTCC after the water filtration systems were installed for them. From now on they can use the water with confidence, as well as won’t have to worry about alum-contaminated water in the future, and their quality of life will improve significantly.

A household is supported with a safe water filtration system.

Giving love to get love. The most priceless gift that SEN got from this project was the warm greetings and smiles on the faces of the sincere and unpretentious locals. Hoping that everyone here has an increasingly happy and wealthy life as we move toward a better future.
