Khmer New Year – Giving Gift at Orussey Primary School (Cambodia)

On the occasion of Khmer New Year 2025, the SEN Charity Fund organized a meaningful gift-giving program at Orussey Primary School, located in the remote Stung Trang District of Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. The school is situated about 154 kilometers from Phnom Penh and lies in a rural area with limited infrastructure and resources.

Orussey Primary School is home to 135 students and 5 teachers. Most of the children come from disadvantaged families, where parents work as rubber tappers in the village. Their livelihoods are challenging, and many households are unable to afford even the most basic school supplies for their children.

In light of these circumstances, the SEN charity team set off early on Saturday morning, April 5, 2025, from Phnom Penh. The weather was pleasant and the roads clear, making for a smooth and hopeful journey. By around 10 a.m., the team arrived at Orussey Primary School, where they were warmly welcomed by teachers and students with bright smiles and eager eyes.

On that heartwarming morning, essential school supplies and sweet treats were handed directly to the students. More than just physical gifts, the event was a moment of connection—offering encouragement and care, and nurturing the children’s dreams of learning and growing.

The gift-giving ceremony concluded with heartfelt emotions. On behalf of the school, the principal extended sincere gratitude to the SEN Charity and offered warm New Year wishes to all SEN family members—wishing everyone health, happiness, and success in the year ahead.
